I love riding the twisty back roads going to Infanta Quezon. But things don't always go perfectly specially when you come across a truck driver that thinks he's Mario Andretti.
I'm not gonna let the long weekend pass by without doing some riding. I decided to go on a solo bike ride to Boracay... Actually, my initial plan was to go to Lubang Island. I'll tell you more about it later. I left our house in Novaliches exactly 6:45am. The plan was to leave at dawn but my alarm clock didn't seem to cooperate. I'm headed towards Batangas Port. The ride going to there was uneventful, bought something to eat when I feel like eating, take CR breaks at gas stations when I needed to go.. you know... :D I just loved every moment I was pedaling. Uphill, downhill, loose, soft, slushy, I loved it all. The cold wind on a sunny day was something I really enjoyed. I guess that's one of the beauty of riding solo. You ride at your own pace. Like they say, Riding with friends is good for the heart, riding solo is good for the soul. ... I got to Batangas port at around 4pm. I asked around where I can buy a boat ticket going to Lubang Island when my pho...
I love watching the auditions at American Idol and this year, I think, I saw the guy that will de-throne William Hung. His name is Renaldo Lapuz. I did some search on yahoo answers and found out that he is a Filipino. You gotta love this guy...very funny, very entertaining and has a very warm personality. I hope we haven't seen that last of him. Now, can anyone tell me how to get his song out of my head. :P
At last, I was finally able to ride to Matnog. The first time I was suppose to go there got postponed at the very last minute because my wife suffered a terrible tummy ache. It was very disappointing but I have to cancel...family always comes first. ...and so I waited.... 6 months later, I recieved an SMS from my ride buddy, Gino. He was asking if I'd like to join them on a long ride to Matnog. Without missing a heartbeat, I said "Yes!" More photos... We covered a total distance of 1,405 kms in 3 days. There were some minor incidents but nothing serious. The most scary part of the ride was when we were riding thru the mountain roads at midnight, it's raining, it's cold and there were some branches placed in the middle of the road. Our spearhead told us during the pre-ride briefing that in case we get caught in such a situation, we should never stop. Those who do gets ambushed or held up. Overall it was one hell of a ride. The food and company was great. More photo...
